What is a Complete AP Exam Registration?

A complete registration is a multi-step process:

Step One: Students must log into the My AP Platform and indicate if they wish to take their AP Exam(s).

Step Two: Students must register for their exams in the Total Registration platform

Step Three: All exams must be paid-in-full online in Total Registration by the registration deadline. (October 24, 2025)

**Students with incomplete registration and/or payment by the 10/24/25 deadline will have their exam order status moved to “No” in the My AP platform. In order to reinstate the AP Exams and have the exams ordered, the registration will incur the College Board $40/exam late fee, since all the steps in the registration process were not complete by the deadline.

Step 1: The My AP Platform

Students log into the My AP platform if they have an existing account or create an account, if this is their first ever AP Course, SAT or PSAT exam registration.

The My AP platform purpose:

  • Resources for preparing for the AP Exam

  • Enter information for AP Exam labels for the testing window in May.

  • Indicate which exams you are intending to take in May.

  • Note: In order for AP exams to be ordered, students must indicate their desire to take the exam in the My AP Platform AND register/pay in the Total Registration platform.

Indicate your intent to test (required):

Using the course and section specific join code(s) supplied by the instructor, students register for their exams and are enrolled into the AP course resources.

  • Join Your AP Class Section

  • Students MUST indicate in each AP course on the College Board website whether they will take the exam in May.

  • Each account is defaulted to “Undecided,” therefore students must select “yes” or “no” for their intent to take the AP exam. If you do not make a selection and pay for your exam, your status will be switched to “no.”

  • Students MUST keep up with their CB account login information. LHS does not have access to student accounts.

Step 2 & 3: Total Registration

Link to Lambert’s Total Registration

Students should use the same account and login information they used last year, if they have previously participated in an AP test, or registered for the PSAT at Lambert.

  • If students already have a TR account, they should look for the “Do you have an existing Total Registration account? Login Here” link at the bottom of the page.

  • Students who do not have a TR account will create an account and use this account in subsequent years.

  • Be sure your student personal information and email are the same as those you used in your My AP College Board account, not a parent's email address.

Step Two: Once in the TR system, students will select the exams they wish to take this year.

STEM Exam Question: You MUST complete this correctly for your registration fees to correctly reflect the GADOE STEM Exam fee waiver and get a free exam.

  • If you are taking at least 1 STEM exam, answer “yes” to the STEM question in Total Registration.

  • An administrator will be automatically notified (there is no need to email or request approval!) and will approve your exam in 1-2 business days.

  • Once the admin has approved your STEM exam fee waiver, your account will be credited the cost of one exam fee and your registration will be released for payment.

  • You will not be automatically notified when your exam is approved, so go back in and check after a few days.

If you are taking a course virtually but will be testing at Lambert, select the FVA/GAVS/Online or Homeschool option when you are prompted to select your teacher and period. If you are not taking the course and are instead learning the content on your own, select Independent Study.

Step Three: Students will complete payment for all exams using Total Registration.

You must check off that you have read and agreed to the refund policy. Registration will not be processed until you have signed off on this.

You will not be able to complete payment if you have a STEM waiver until you have been approved. You will need to come back to this step after your waiver has been approved. Check back in 24-48 hours to finish processing your payment.
