Department Overview:
The Social Studies Department at Lambert High School is dedicated to shaping responsible, informed, and engaged citizens prepared for an increasingly complex world. Social studies education provides students with the knowledge and skills they need to understand the world around them and become informed, responsible citizens. By studying history, geography, government, economics, and culture, students learn how past events shape present-day societies and how their actions can impact the future. Our department works to foster an environment where students develop academic knowledge, critical thinking, and interpersonal communication skills—essentials for success both during their high school years, college, and beyond as members of a diverse and interconnected world through civic engagement and cultural awareness.
Students have numerous opportunities available to them by taking Social Studies classes at Lambert High School. Students will be provided with numerous scholarship opportunities, focused on the social sciences and updated quarterly. Rho Kappa, the National Social Studies Honors Society, provides a place for students to have fun while engaging in Social Studies activities and field trips. Finally, the Civic Engagement Diploma Seal provides an opportunity for students to grow as civic-minded individuals.
