Amanda Thrower - Principal

It is such an honor to serve as the principal of Lambert High School! Lambert is much more than the place where I work. It is home. As a parent of two Lambert graduates and a future Longhorn, and a longtime member of this incredible community, I have a deeply personal investment in our school. Like every parent, I want the very best high school experience for my children. As Lambert's principal, I want that same experience for every child who walks through our doors.

Since beginning my career in Forsyth County Schools in 2002, I have had the opportunity to work with students, staff, and families across both the middle and high school levels in a variety of instructional and leadership roles. Those experiences have reinforced my belief that strong relationships, high expectations, and a commitment to serving others are the foundation of a great school. As I begin my fourth year as principal of Lambert High School, I am grateful to lead a community that lives those values every day.

I earned my bachelor's degree from Berry College, my master's degree from the University of Georgia (Go Dawgs!), and my Ed.S. from Nova Southeastern University. This fall, I am excited to begin pursuing my doctorate in Educational Leadership at the University of Georgia.

I love our students, our staff, and our community. Together, we are committed to ensuring every Longhorn is known, challenged, supported, and empowered to LEAD well, LIVE well, and LOVE well.

I absolutely love being a Longhorn! I began my teaching career 14 years ago at Riverwatch Middle School where I taught Language Arts and served as an Instructional Coach and Student Support Coordinator. I also served as Liberty Middle School's Instructional Coach.  I graduated from Georgia College (Go Bobcats!) with a degree in Middle Grades Education. From there I moved to Athens and worked on my Master's in Middle Grades Education from the University of Georgia (Go Dawgs!). I also have a Specialist in Curriculum and Instruction. I absolutely love the teaching and learning process and finding ways for learning to come alive in the classroom!  When I'm not at school, my husband, Davis, and I are raising our two children- Collins (10) and Greer (8).  I am so excited for another year to lead, live, and love alongside the Lambert Community!
